A passenger bus hurtled off a cliff in Legambo, Amhara, in northern Ethiopia, on March 12th. At least 38 people were killed in the accident, while another 10 people sustained injuries of various intensities. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Passenger Train Crashes in India; At Least 23 Killed, Over 100 Injured
A passenger train derailed in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India, on August 19th. The accident happened when the Kalinga-Utkal Express train was en-route from Puri, Odisha, to Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Passenger Bus Over-turns in Russia; 11 Killed, 20 Injured
A passenger bus overturned on a motorway adjoining the city of Chita with Irkutsk, Russia, on the late night of June 11. The bus was carrying 51 orthodox pilgrims from a pilgrimage. At least 11 people were killed in the crash, while another 20 people sustained injuries of various intensities. The cause of crash remains under investigation.
